The International Workshop on Environmental Genomics (IWEG), initiated in 2016, brings together experts from industry, academia, and regulatory agencies from around the world. The IWEG provides a forum to discuss the state of the art, current scientific achievements, and opportunities for application and guideline development for the emerging technology that is environmental genomics. It fosters productive and inclusive discussions on the pace of deployment of environmental genomic tools and the possible barriers and solutions to bring this technology to the mainstream.
